10 Great 4th of July Books For Kids
The Fourth of July is right around the corner and what better way to encourage summer reading than with books that talk about the 4th? It’s a great way to help them understand why we celebrate as well as encouraging them to read.
It’s been proven than reading helps kids in many ways. From helping to expand vocabulary, better comphrension, to more confidence- there are multiple positive results from reading. To make reading feel less of a chore it can be helpful to just work on having them read anything. Whether it’s a sign, a joke, a menu- it all adds up. Using books that explain the holiday we are celebrating is a great way to get kids to enjoy reading. Even if they are not old enough yet to acually read themsleves the process of reading the book to them and pointing out colors, shapes, etc can help in their comphrension.
