18 Steve Jobs Quotes And Lessons That Are Sure To Inspire You

18 Steve Jobs Quotes and Lessons That Are Sure To Inspire You

1.

Perseverance- I’m convinced that about half of what separates successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance.

2.

Quality Is Key- Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren’t used to an environment where excellence is expected. Share on X

3.

Design- Design isn’t about how it looks, it’s about how it works.

4.

Saying No- Say no to 1,000 things We don’t get a chance to do that many things, and everyone should be really excellent. Because this is our life. Life is brief, and then you die, you know? And we’ve all chosen to do this with our lives

5.

Master The Message– You have to get people excited about what you’re doing in order for them to see your vision

6.

Your Time Is Limited- Use It Wisely. “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

7.

Realizing Your Possibilities– When you grow up you tend to get told that the world is the way it is and your life is just to live your life inside the world. Try not to bash into the walls too much. Try to have a nice family life, have fun, save a little money. That’s a very limited life. Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact: Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it… Once you learn that, you’ll never be the same again

9.

Embrace every failure. Own it, learn from it, and take full responsibility for making sure that next time, things will turn out differently.

10.

Quality Is Key- When you’re a carpenter making a beautiful chest of drawers, you’re not going to use a piece of plywood on the back, even though it faces the wall and nobody will see it. You’ll know it’s there, so you’re going to use a beautiful piece of wood on the back. For you to sleep well at night, the aesthetic, the quality, has to be carried all the way through.

11.

Have Passion. Passion fuels the rocket, but vision is what directs it to it’s destination “You have to be burning with an idea, or a problem, or a wrong that you want to right. If you’re not passionate enough from the start, you’ll never stick it out.”

12.

Do What You Love “People with passion can change the world for the better”

13.

Creativity- Creativity connects things.

14.

Sell Dreams, Not Products– Jobs always felt that people who bought Apple products weren’t consumers, but people with dreams they wanted to achieve.

15.

Create A Great Experience

16.

Embrace every failure. Own it, learn from it, and take full responsibility for making sure that next time, things will turn out differently.

17.

Just Because Others Don’t See It Doesn’t Make It Impossible– In 1979, Jobs saw an early and crude graphical user interface being demonstrated at the Xerox research facility in Palo Alto, California.  He knew immediately that the technology would make computers appealing to “everyday people.”  That technology eventually became The Macintosh, which changed everything about the way we interact with computers.  Xerox scientists didn’t realize its potential because their “vision” was limited to making new copiers.  Two people can see the exactly the same thing, but perceive it differently based on their vision.(Carmine Gallo- 7 Success Principles of Steve Jobs)

18.

Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish– Don’t ever be satisfied.  Always push yourself to do the things people say can’t be done.

And a bonus one…
It's About What You DO- Someday you won't remember what you had...but you'll never forget what you did. #truth #stevejobs #life #lessons #blogger #strive Share on X

My Favorite Blog Post This Week- 5th Edition

My Favorite Blog Post This Week... https://oklahomacity.citymomsblog.com/mixed-messages-to-millennial-moms/

Mixed Messages to Millenial Moms

This post on the Oklahoma City Mom’s Blog by Britnie Sims is on point with it’s message.  It’s so annoying sometimes how you’re told to do one thing but then again your told not to.

Excerpt:

We’re bombarded with conflicting information and our parenting choices are scrutinized.  One second judgmental snapshots are posted about our lives everywhere which makes raising children in this day and age a little murky and complicated.

Favorite Blog Post of the Week https://wearethatfamily.com/2017/08/motherhood-requires-grit/

Motherhood Requries Grit

There’s a true statement if I ever saw one.  So many times, moms are often passed off as being weak or not as strong because she has kids and her heart is soft.  What every mother knows is that even when she doesn’t want to there is point (actually several throughout a childs life) where she must step back and let them learn.

Excerpt:

Raising grateful kids means parents have to grow up, too. We can’t let our kids control and contrive their way through life.  Motherhood has taught me I can’t give in just to keep peace. I can’t heal heartache or prevent heartbreak. I can’t eliminate or alleviate bad days. I can’t protect my children from every day life.

Oh, I can try, but if I always rush to protect my kids from struggling, I might also prevent them from growing.

By the way, Kristen is also the author of the book Raising Greateful Kids in an Entitled World.  Check it out when you get the chance :)!

YUM!

That’s all for this week 🙂

2. Children- the similarities and differences

This post is so cute!  It’s funny because I often watch my kids and it amazes me their similarities and their differences.  My interaction with each of them is different based on their personality.  It’s so much fun to watch them grow and see these personalities come out.

3. Why I Don’t Use Cry It Out- The Coffee Mom.

I hadn’t actually asked my own pediatrician about this, because my husband and I argued over it. My pediatrician explained-  If she cries, pick her up. She’s crying because it’s her only form of communication. She can’t talk yet. Babies don’t even connect those dots that you will come when they cry until around 6-7 months. Even then only if it becomes a constant thing should you purposely let them ‘cry it out.’  I just don’t believe in letting an infant wonder if you’re there. I know everyone has their own methods and beliefs.  I really liked this post though.

***Disclaimer to new moms.  Those moments when the baby is crying and you can’t soothe them and you’re ready to pull your own hair out- laying them down in their crib and stepping away to compose yourself and get a breath is completely different.  A frustrated, overwhelmed mommy and a cranky baby mix like oil and water.  To me this has nothing to do with making them cry it out**

Budgeting For The Win

https://thinkingofsomeday.com/budgeting-do-it-stop-thinking-about-it/

This post from thinkingofsomeday.com is an interview by Kim & Omar of Kim’s friend Jessica and how she feels after setting a budget and sticking to it.

I think there are people that see budgeting the same way they see dieting. ‘I’ll eat only green beans for three months and lose the weight I want!’ LOL  So they do it and are miserable for 3 months, lose the weight and then gain it all back with the first slice of pizza they eat. If they decide to approach their “diet” as making healthier eating choices they aren’t nearly as miserable and they truly get a benefit from it.

Budgeting doesn’t have to be a miserable experience. It’s about contentiously making healthy money decisions. You may hate it at first but then you’ll see how much better you feel on a regular basis. Like Jessica says in her interview-

Budgeting can feel a bit restricting at first. However, once I learned exactly where the money in the house is going and needs to go, I could put into my budget for “free money” to do fun activities with friends and the boo thang. Lol!

Check it out! I hope you find it as inspiring as I did 🙂

Two Year Old Finds Perfect Way To Endear Fellow PassengersTwo Year Old Fist Bumps

I LOVE this post from Mommy Shorts ❤️. I mean, how adorable is this kid? And how do you get irritated with a child on a flight who is getting restless after the fist bumped you at the beginning of the flight?  Face it..you made a connection with that fist bump and now you’re a little more likely to overlook any restlessness this kid might have on the flight. Brilliant parenting idea!

Side note- there’s nothing saying that this adorable little boy got restless on the flight he could be a total champ flyer I’m just saying….he fist bumps you and your heart grows a little bigger. My did just from watching him ❤️

Benefits of Blogging

Benefits of blogging

Here are a few benefits of blogging that can help you understand why you should start a blog.  You can also check out why WordPress is a great option!

  1. Blogging allows you to become a better thinker.

When you blog you are having to organize your thoughts in order to write them out.. Blogging causes you to look further into subjects that you are tackling. This continuous practice helps you train your mind to think better

  1. It makes you a better writer.

Remember the saying “Practice makes perfect” or “Use it or lose it”?  Both of those come to mind when thinking about writing.  The more you do it the better you get.  Also, when you don’t practice something you start to forget the details of the process.  Writing on a regular basis will build these skills which can help you both professionally and personally when communicating.

  1. Blogging makes you better with conversation

As you start having people follow your blog, you’ll receive emails and comments from your audience.  These interactions with people will help you better articulate yourself and allow you to gain confidence in expressing yourself.

  1. Share your knowledgeshare knowledge

Blogging is a great way to help people by sharing your knowledge on a subject or process.  In turn, it makes you feel better for having made a positive difference on someone.

  1. You can make Money!

  1. Blogging empowers you to raise awareness about things you care about.

Do you have a specific cause or a charity that you want to raise awareness about or support? Through your blog, you can help raise awareness and money for these causes.

  1. No Degree Required

To blog, you don’t need a special degree or classes.   There is some training that is nice and can make things easier but there is no specific degree required to be a blogger.

  1. Minimal Start up cost

To start a blog, you can do it for free by hosting through a platform such as WordPress.com or you can get a host and have your own domain (www.name.com). There is a cost to host through your own domain, however,  it’s well worth it.

  1. Blogging Instills Discipline

To blog successfully you must come up with a schedule and be consistent so that your audience knows what to expect.  It can feel very difficult at first until you get into the groove of doing it.
