The Life Of A Busy Mom And A Review Of Fit Mom Go

A Review Of Fit Mom Go, fitness for moms that is accessible, easy, and do-able. littlemissblog.com

How many times a week do you exercise?  This is the question my doctor asked me at a visit not too long ago.  “Uhhh” Does working full time, being a wife, mom, solo-prenuer,  blogger, and college student count as physical activity? In all honesty, I don’t have time for a gym membership.   I’m barely able to manage juggling making sure my first grader’s homework gets completed, lunches get made and bags for the next day are ready after working all day never mind that all of those don’t even check off all my task for the day.

I’ve had a gym membership in the past to which I’d go for maybe 3 weeks and then stop.  I basically went for the treadmill and/or elliptical to which I did not feel energized or happy after completing.  I have never understood when people say they love the gym.  I’m happy for you, it’s just not a connection I’ve ever been able to make.

Not Enough Time For The Gym

I honestly do not have the time or patience for going to the gym after becoming a mom.  It’s six pm or just after before I get home and get the kids fed.  Then it’s homework with my daughter, playing with my son (in between making lunches), baths, story and then bed.   Once the kids are in bed I’m doing homework part of the week and blogging/working on WordPress sites the other part.  Then once a week, each kid has dance class which pushes our timeline further out.

We try on the weekends to play outside with the kids or go on walks but there’s also fun (ha!) things we have to do like clean the house, run errands (like the grocery store), and finish up any task we didn’t get done during the week.  It’s tough and it’s tiring. I try and end work by 10 to hang out with my husband for at least an hour where we watch a tv show at least a couple times a week.

I’ve thought about getting a treadmill for home, we did get an elliptical a couple years ago but again, trying to do that with someone yelling for Mommy is hard.  That and my attention span is short and I get bored with it.

Fitness Videos

About four years ago, my father-in-law purchased a popular DVD program set for my husband and I for our birthdays (which are 3 days apart).   I just couldn’t get into it and then on top of that my goal is not to be ripped so putting all this time and effort into that supposedly being my goal just didn’t motivate me.  I’m sure it’s a great program and has done wonders for people, I just couldn’t find motivation in it.

Balance, Strength, & Playtime

Balance, Strength, & Playtime- these are the things in life that are important to me.  They are the things that right now, I can relate to.   Balance, because so often as moms we’re juggling 10 different things at a moments notice.  Strength, to get done what I need to and not hurt myself in the process whether it’s carrying a kid around or slinging around bags.  Playtime with the kids is important, and it’s moments like that they’ll remember.  That new doll they love is great, but time spent will be what remains in their minds.

The Fit Mom Go program ties all of this in together.  There are workouts for balance and strengthening, as well as ones to do with the kids.  The workouts help show you that playtime with the kids, can also be workout time whether you decide to run around the yard, hop like bunnies, fly like birds, the possibilities are endless.  Working out doesn’t always mean that you’re using weights or at a gym.  Those days where I am working out doing core exercises, or squats- I know that later in the week when I go to play superheroes with the kids, I’m building the strength to keep up and not give out after 5 minutes.

Exercise Is Normal

Fit Mom Go has also shown me that not only is strengthening my body good for me so that it can do all the task I require of it, but it also shows my kids that exercise is normal.   Growing up, it seemed as though exercise was something you did solely to lose weight.  I’ll be honest with you, if that’s the case- I’d prefer to just cut way back on what I’m eating (which isn’t always good).  I want my kids to realize that exercise is something you do, just like putting on clothes in the morning or brushing your hair. It doesn’t have to be something you dread, it can be though something you just do.

When I want to give up, I remember who’s watching littlemissblog.com

No Gym Required

There’s no gym required to participate in the Fit Mom Go program.  A mat and some weights come in handy, but nothing that requires you to drive to the gym to get a workout in.  It makes it so much easier to fit in a workout when you have options of some that are 10-15 minutes long (as well as some longer ones).  Some days, I may get two or three in throughout the day, so you can always add on if you have time available.  Other days, I may only get one in, and that’s ok too.

Facebook Accountability Group

With the paid membership to Fit Mom Go, there is a Facebook Accountability group.   Erin does live workouts on Mondays (that you can go back and do anytime) and then picks a workout on Wednesday from her workout collection.  This is awesome because it’s not always one that you’d necessarily choose on your own but one that you should definitely try.  There are giveaways, encouragement, challenges, and accountability check-ins to help keep you on track.

Healthier And Stronger Goals

Fit Mom Go as shown me that healthier and stronger are important for me and my kids.  Having the strength to keep up with the demands of being a mom, having a clear head and being able to be present not only with my kids but with everyone else also, makes a difference in life.  It makes me feel better.  If you’re a mom like me, who at this point in life that Britney Spears bikini pic is not motivation to workout (let’s face it…quite frankly I’m too tired to even get to the beach let alone carry everything that I have to with me) and the motivation  to fit in exercise so that you can take care of yourself, and in turn be able to take care of those around you does inspire you to workout- then I definitely suggest checking out this program.

Incentives To Try!

If you need any more incentive to try… on my Facebook page  I shared a post about Fit Mom Go’s Summer of Your Dreams program where you can get 25% off your first month’s membership with the code SUMMERPREP,  after May 1st the price will be increasing so catch it before Tuesday!!  Check out Fit Mom Go for all the details!

This post is not sponsored, I honestly love the program and feel that other moms could benefit greatly from it :)!  While when push comes to shove, this picture isn’t much motivation for me to workout-

But the idea of this (below) is 🙂  Being present, having the energy to play and be present with the kids after a long day (or week).
